REFLEXOLOGY

The client who cannot have massage done to the rest of their body because of injury, surgery or pain, reflexology is another wonderful way of helping recovery and reducing tension without having to touch an injured area. Reflexive points in the feet are said to stimulate corresponding areas in the body without touching the area itself.  The pads of the thumbs are used to stimulate points in the feet, hands or ears to affect any area of the body that the client is feeling discomfort or unwell. My own personal experience with reflexology was profound and I experienced relief from neck pain as well as emotional distress.

SHIATSU

The client coming for shiatsu is looking for improved health and a sense of wellness overall.  Shiatsu is a form of massage that is very relaxing , done through the sheet or clothing and does not use any oil. Shiatsu is also gentle and wonderful for recovery from emotional stress or renewing peace and tranquility. Overstimulation  by technology, media and busyness interfere with our body’s natural ability to maintain a balance.  Shiatsu helps guides the body back to a natural  balance.

Shiatsu is a tranquil form of massage therapy with wonderful health benefits as well. Shiatsu is a meditative healing art that honors the body, mind and spirit. As a form of massage it is unlike Swedish or Western massage techniques in many ways. Most distinctly, rather than using oils and lotions to stroke and rub the skin and soft tissue, Shiatsu is done through light clothing, using firm, rhythmic pressure from my hands, thumbs and fingers.

Shiatsu literally means “finger pressure” in Japanese.   Shiatsu Massage sensitively treats the whole person, addressing the physical, energetic and emotional bodies Shiatsu promotes optimal health and wellness.  Shiatsu Massage uses acupressure points and channels to instill harmonious flow of Qi throughout the body.  When Qi  is blocked or diminished the result can lead to: pain, fatigue, lack of motivation/purpose, depression and in extreme cases, disease.

Jennifer provides a tremendously healing massage. This is a professional who cares deeply about her clients and goes the extra mile to advance healing. She is superb. My hip pain is nearly gone, and I can’t wait to see where she takes me next as she analyzes things about my own body I never knew. She is thoughtful and patient, and calls between sessions to see how I’m doing. She is terrific and I am grateful. ~ Lynn H
